Action Plan
This is what I do all day, in large part.
...
Where are you now?
Chris is happily engaged with his job at WorkDirections UK. Chris works as an employment advisor supporting people in incapacity benefits. He is satisfied with his salary and working conditions.
Chris lives by himself, currently with a house guest, in a one-bedroom flat which he owns. His flat is pleasant, and set up to his liking. There is some work Chris would like to do, but this is not a priority. The flat is an admitted tip at the moment, as far as bits of bed, too much cabling and piles of clothes lying around are concerned. Plus, his modelling materials are in various boxes in various places; there iss no surface upon which to make lizards, small people and other sundries of plasticine.
Chris' immediate plans are to continue with his current employment, but he would like to find energy for creative projects. Specifically, he would like to prioritise photography and bring creative writing back as an activity, which he has lately been neglecting. This is understandable, as Chris' new job is far more demanding in terms of energy than any other he has had. Chris enjoys whining about this.
Chris has been achieving well as a hobbyist in photography, with a recent trip to Shanghai a great learning experience and highlight. Chris has very nearly processed all 1200+ the photos he took.
What do you want to do?
As noted, Chris' priority is creative projects in photography and writing.
Constraints and Solutions
The demands on Chris by his job, and adjusting to them, are his main constraint to achieving time for creative projects. He is often tired on returning home from work and the 5.30 finishing time puts each evening slightly more behind time than he is used to. He also needs to get to his bed by 11.30 or he's wrecked the next day. He is not used to this at all.
He is inspired by photography at the moment; and supported by his friend, SteveO, who is also an enthusiastic photographer. SteveO has applied to an HND in Photography and, should he be awarded a place, his continued interest will hopefully push Chris forward, too.
Chris would like to generate income from his creative projects, with a view to moving towards this full time. He feels that finding time for photography, writing, and his other prioritiy, keeping up with friends and family, is highly demanding. In order to create appropriate time for all three, he will be making better use of the calendar on his phone, as he has achieved success in this way in the past. He will also be scheduling social activity in advance more, which has also worked for him in the past.
Action Plan Tasks
Chris will move the bed parts and mattress onto the mezzanine level.
Chris will put the bed up for sale.
Chris will arrange a desk space in the space bed parts and mattress are currently occupying.
