Fourteen clients

In one day. Wow.

Reaper seems fun. If a bit thin. Watching it just now. On m'new Virgin Media TV. Tell you what, though - spent about ten minutes flicking through various 'on demand' and 'tv choice' menus to decide I was going to watch something that was just on the telly. Seems daft.

...

OK. On demand, I'm going to go and do a wee bit of writing.

Might be called away at any second

I'm expecting chaps for dinner. Gods, what a busy day. Twelve clients. Two cancellations, but they were replaced by three others dropping in en spec. With happy things - jobs and such, needing clothes for interviews they've gotten. And, admittedly, I enjoy running around with my head on fire. But still! Twelve!

And tomorrow it's fourteen. A...challenging day ahead.

My double oven is in stock! Yippee! Missed them to phone and organise a delivery date today, but will do that tomorrow.

Pretty new double oven and matching ceramic hob top.

*glee*

The scifi thang is taking a shape in my head. I had that first chapter, which some of you may have seen. And I thought for a while it was just a short story and -

Ooops. Guests.

Monday - in the bag

Weeks are going by incredibly quickly. I have no bother at all getting out of bed in the morning these days because I know I'll blink, and it'll be five thirty. Is good, but we were joking today at work about looking up from one's desk and thinking, "Damn - when did I get to be fifty?".

Not that I'm complaining. It'll be Friday in a minute. Weekends are definitely not long enough.

The sun has set, and so to bed

So, this week marks the beginning of A Photography Competition or Submission a Week.

I figured I was let off trying to fit internet cafes into an already hectic schedule and t'internet is obviously the best place for this sort of endeavour. But I gots the connection now, so enough hanging around.

...

Hit the portrait gallery with Alexis on Sunday, then went to John Lewis to get picture frames and had a coffee. A mostly pleasantly middle class afternoon. *laughter*.

The exhibition was good. Bought the book.

Give it up for internets in da house! :)

And it was just as easy as Virgin said it would be. Got big box o' electronica delivered, hooked up cables and made a phone call. Woot!

Life is good, life is great, life is grand. Alliteratively and literally. :)

Loving my job. It's hard work, but it's great and damn, but the weeks go fast. It's that magic moment I've been waiting for when the alarm goes off in the morning, and I'm quite happy to get out of bed. Plus, given how busy the weeks are and how nice the days are, I'm generally quite happy to toddle off to bed long before midnight. Makes a big difference if what you're getting up for in the morning is worth not watching that last episode of Angel for.

I'm performing well. Or so I'm told, and so it seems as I'm meeting my targets so far and I'm on to meet February's at a canter. Targets increase every month until May when we settle on the operational standard. (Which is eight a month!)

Extra-curriculars have been suffering, though. Barely been taking photographs - but the hideous weather and cold has had an effect on that, too. I do have a new knapsack (I just like the word) and a thermos for tea, so hopefully I'll be getting out a bit more often in coming weeks. That said, it's just so damn grey in Edinburgh at the moment. It seems like the only time we get decent sky is when I'm at work.

Did manage out for a playdate with Madam Babb last week, though:
